Ontario Small Business Support Grant

Applications are now open for the new Ontario Small Business Support Grant. The grant provides $10,000 to $20,000 to eligible small businesses who have had to restrict their operations due to the province wide shutdown.

Applicants must demonstrate a revenue decline of at least 20% from April 2019 to 2020. New businesses established since April 2019 are eligible provided they meet the other eligibility criteria.

Criteria:

1. be required to close or restrict services subject to the Province-wide Shutdown effective 12:01 a.m. on December 26;

2. have fewer than 100 employees at the enterprise level;

3. have experienced a minimum of 20% revenue decline comparing April 2020 to April 2019 revenues. New businesses established since April 2019 are also eligible provided they meet the other eligibility criteria;

4. The business is neither one that was already forced to close prior to the modified stage 2 rules on October 10th or an essential business that is still able to operate.
